MORRISTOWN, NJ - Now that more and more places are reopening, people are traveling a little more and a little farther from home. One thing to consider is how safe is your child's car seat.
According to Safe Kids Worldwide, a non-profit organization that works to keep kids safe from injuries, preventable injuries are the #1 killer of kids in the United States. Throughout the world, almost one million children die of an injury each year, and almost every one of these tragedies is preventable, they stated. Safe Kids Northern New Jersey, is led by Morristown Medical Center and works to keep safe at home, on the road and at play.
To be safe on the road, kids need a safe car seat. Families can now get your car seat professionally checked by a nationally certified Child Passenger Safety Technician (CPST) at the following locations:
Shade Tree Garage located at 171 Washington Street in Morristown. They are open the second Saturday of the month from 8am - 12 noon and the third Tuesday of the month from 5pm - 8pm.
Chester First Aid Squad located at 100 North Road in Chester. They are open the first Tuesday of the month from 2pm - 6pm and the third Tuesday of the month from 7am - 12noon.
Atlantic Ambulance Building at 120 Dorsa Avenue in Livingston. They are open on Wednesdays from 9am - 3pm.
In Sussex County, 5 West Shore Train in Sparta is open the fourth Monday of the Monday from 10am - 1pm
Pompton Lakes First Aid Squad located at 700 Ramapo Avenue in Pompton Lakes is open the third Monday of the month from 4pm - 7pm.
