MORRISTOWN, NJ - Atlantic Health Systems is asking community members for assistance with making masks for Morristown Medical Center, Chilton Medical Center as well other area hospitals.

"You’ve come together to support our health care heroes in ways we never thought imaginable", wrote Atlantic Health System on Facebook. "And you continue to ask for ways you can help. We still need donations of personal protective equipment to protect our front line care teams as they fight COVID-19 - N95 masks or similar are in great demand, along with eye protectors, other masks, gloves and gowns.

Residents and organizations are immediately stepping up.

The Front-Line Appreciation Group (FLAG) of Madison-Chatham has already made several deliveries. On Monday, the group distributed masks to the Pediatric Urology team and more are being delivered to the PICU at St. Barnabas.

The Montville Township Women's Club is also reaching out to members and the community to help.

"These masks will be used for those in healthcare spaces who are not directly at risk for novel coronavirus (COVID-19) exposure, but still may want additional protection", wrote the women's club. "Keeping our health care personnel safe and working enables us to take care of our communities. We stand ready to care for the communities we serve and know that at times like these, our community comes together in extraordinary ways. Thank you for playing a critical role as we fight COVID1-9 together".

The East Hanover School District donated 300 masks to Morristown Medical Center. The school district searched their anual supplies and decided to donate them since school is not in session. Nurse Nancy helped organize and deliver them.

Please contact Jeff Levine at jeff.levine@atlantichealth.org to pickup completed masks
