Madison has been hit with some pretty heavy snow this year, prompting more school closures than expected and numerous delayed openings since January.
Though students may be getting a break from school this winter, these young learners will have to make up for lost time during spring break in April, according to district Superintendent Mark Schwarz.
Originally scheduled from Monday, April 9 through Friday, April 13, the five-day vacation will now be cut to three, Schwarz said.
Madison schools have closed on five different occasions this year, two more days than the district calendar accounts for, including this week on Wednesday and Thursday after the second nor'easter in less than a week buried the town under another heavy blanket of snow.
No word yet on how—or if—these extra snow days could impact the end-of-year schedule.
