MADISON – The Madison Senior Shopping Network is now available for Madison’s senior citizens and other vulnerable members of our community.  This grassroots, all-volunteer group is ready to help seniors avoid grocery stores to help protect them from COVID-19.

This is a no-contact and free delivery service for grocery shopping and basic errands.  Seniors can send an email to: or call 1-800-337-0236 with a request and include:

  • Your name and address
  • Your phone number
  • Your grocery list or what you need help with (be as specific as possible)
  • The date you would like your delivery, if you have a preference

A volunteer will reach out by phone or email to coordinate the details of the request and seniors can either leave a check for the volunteers or they (or a loved one) can use electronic payment tools to reimburse the volunteer for the cost of groceries.

Co-founder Maria Slabaugh observed, “This volunteer service came together in a matter of days, which is a testament to the kind of community Madison is.  Even if a senior doesn’t need help now, we’ve already heard how reassuring it is for them to know we are here to help if they need it.”
