NEW JERSEY - Election Day is Tuesday, November 5. Polls are open across the Garden State from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Election Day.

Election Day is not a federal holiday, but it is a state holiday in New Jersey. Since Election Day is not a federal holiday, there will be mail delivery on November 5. However,  all state offices and courts will be closed. The Division of Motor Vehicles and Inspection stations are closed. The Morris School District will be closed on Election Day.

The Borough of Madison is open as are banks and the stock market. The Madison Public Schools will be in session and retail stores, restaurants and businesses throughout the state are open on Election Day.
