MADISON, NJ - It's that time of year again! The Scarecrows of Waverly Place are back!
In fact, 43 scarecrows and cornstalks have been installed on the lamp posts of Waverly Place in Madison. The Madison Area Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with the Garden Club of Madison, installs the scarecrows, which are decorated by Chamber-member businesses and organizations.
"Scarecrows on Waverly is one of our favorite fall projects, and we are thrilled to be able to work with the Garden Club of Madison on this." said Chamber executive director Karen Giambra. "Forty-three businesses participated and did a great job showing us their creative and fun side."
Lisa Carballo and Gretchen Sinha, members of the Garden Club, were part of the group of volunteers that helped with the display. Carballo and Sinha have been members of the Garden Club for two and seven years respectively.
"This is always such a great project to do with everybody, enjoy the day, take some pictures and beautify the town", said Sinha.
Residents, commuters and shoppers are invited to take a stroll down Waverly Place and see this year's scarecrows. All scarecrows will remain up through Halloween.
"The Garden Club of Madison's work is done with a true love and commitment for the improvement and quality of our community." said Giambra. "We have enjoyed partnering with them, now for the fourth year, and we plan to continue this annual tradition for all to enjoy."
