CHATHAM, NJ – Matthew J. Giacobbe, the attorney representing the Chatham Board of Education, issued a brief statement Thursday denying allegations brought forth in a lawsuit and promising to "vigorously defend" the School District of the Chathams. 

A federal lawsuit was filed by Chatham mother, Libby Hilsenrath and her minor child, on Tuesday, Jan. claiming a violation of constitutional rights.

In a press release, Giacobbe issues the following statement on behalf of the School District of the Chathams Board of Education: “The Board has no comment on the pending litigation other than to state that it denies the allegations contained in the Complaint and will vigorously defend the District, its Board of Education and Staff from the allegations contained therein.”
