MORRISTOWN, NJ - Madison resident Gary Anderson (age 45) has been sentenced to 11 years in state prison for possession of child pornography, announced Morris County Prosecutor Fredric Knapp, Acting Chief of Investigations Christoph Kimker, and Chief Darren Dachisen of the Madison Borough Police Department.
Anderson previously pled guilty to one count of Endangering the Welfare of a Child for the Possession of Child Pornography in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24-4b(5)(b)(ii), a crime of the second degree and one count of Possession of Child Pornography in violation of N.J.S.A. 2C:24- 4b(5)(b)(iii), a crime of the third degree, said authorities.
He admitted that he uploaded over 1,000 images of child pornography on his home computer between December 2018 and July 2019 and an additional image between September 2019 and October 2019.
Today, May 1, Anderson was sentenced to 11 years in state prison and will be subject to Megan's Law registration and parole supervision for life.
“We must work to prevent the exploitation of our children, especially by repeat, habitual offenders", said Prosecutor Knapp. The sentence imposed by the Court demonstrates the seriousness with which Morris County Law Enforcement prosecutes such cases. Hopefully this sentence will also deter others from even contemplating such horrific acts.”
