On 1/5/2020 at 7:54pm Ptl. Kyle McDermott arrested Sheppard Miller, 54 of Irvington, NJ. Ptl. McDermott was dispatched to Stop and Shop for a theft by a store employee. Stop and Shop management reported that Miller allegedly stole lottery tickets valued at less than $100.00. Ptl. McDemrott met with Shepherd inside the location and placed him under arrest. He was charged with Shoplifting, a disorderly person’s offense and was he was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 1/14/2020 at 1:08am Ptl. Kyle McDermott arrested Daniel R. Fitzgerald, 18 of Florham Park, NJ. Ptl. McDermott stopped the vehicle in which Fitzgerald was a passenger on Greenwood Avenue for a moving violation. Upon initial investigation, Ptl. McDermott detected signs of drug use inside the vehicle. After an investigation, Fitzgerald was found to be in possession of THC oil. He was arrested and charged with possession under 5 grams of THC oil, failure to make proper disposition of CDS, and possession of drug paraphernalia- all disorderly person’s offenses. Fitzgerald was released pending a court appearance in Madison Municipal Court.
On 1/15/2020 Det. Julian Morales arrested Matthew J. Beltran, 28 of Madison, NJ. Madison Detectives were investigating reports of thefts from lockers at the Madison YMCA beginning in November 2019. Several victims reported that their lockers inside of the Madison YMCA were entered and items including cash, car keys, and cell phones were missing totaling approximately $1000. Through an investigation and from items of evidence, Beltran was developed as a suspect and ultimately charged with several criminal offenses. Beltran was arrested at his residence by Madison Detectives and charged with three (3) counts of 3rd degree burglary and three (3) counts of theft. He was later transported to the Morris County Jail where he is awaiting his court appearance in Morris County Superior Court.
