MADISON, NJ- The Madison boys’ team picked up their 3 rd straight win Wednesday night, with a 77-46 victory over North Plainfield. The girls’ team also recorded their 3 rd straight win, by defeating Boonton, 61-32.
Andrew Stack led the team with 21-points and was one of five Madison players in double figures in the squad’s highest scoring game of the year. The Dodgers jumped out to a 21-5 first quarter advantage and never looked back.
The Dodgers are now 15-8 on the season with Hanover Park on Friday.
Tess Callaghan led the girls with 17-points in a convincing win over Boonton on Senior Night. According to Coach Lisa DiTuro, the Lady Dodgers secured at least a share of the Independence Division Championship with the win. The Dodgers honored their lone senior, Sadie Kim, who has been a Varsity letter winner for four years and is this year's captain.
Coach DiTuro described Sadie as the defensive leader of the squad and an incredibly hard-working player.
"She has the kind of dedication and work-ethic that coaches dream about," she said.
Tess Callaghan drained 4 3s and tallied 17 points, while Julia Olesen added 14, scoring 10 in the first quarter. Vivian Summerlin, Sam Bangs, and Maggie Perrello added 10, 8, and 5 respectively. The Dodgers will close out the regular season with 3 road games before setting their sights on the state tournament. They will face Hacketstown at 7 at home on March 3rd
