MADSION – The Madison High School field hockey team was given the second seed in the upcoming Morris County Tournament.

The Dodgers will play the winner of 15th-seeded Randolph and 18th-seeded Jefferson in the first round of the tournament. West Morris Central was given the top seed. Rounding out the top 10 were Morristown- Beard at third, Boonton at fourth, Chatham at fifth, Mendham at sixth, Morristown at seventh, Pequannock at eighth, Mount Olive at ninth and Montville at 10th.

The preliminary round starts this weekend. The semifinals will be on Oct. 12 at Boonton High School, with the games at 9 a.m. and 11 a.m.

The championship game is on Oct. 15 at Boonton High School at 7 p.m.

Madison is off to a 7-1 start to the season. Six of its seven wins have come by shutout and its lone loss was to Bernards.

The Dodgers most recently defeated Boonton, 4-0, on Wednesday. Tori Brosie, June Sirria, Chase Cmaylo and Mollie Sullivan all scored for Madison.
