MADISON – The second-seeded Madison High School field hockey team advanced to the Morris County Tournament quarterfinals following a 5-0 shutout of 15th-seeded Randolph in the second round on Wednesday, Oct. 2.

The county tournament-defending champion Dodgers will play seventh-seeded Morristown in the quarterfinals. Morristown edged 10th-seeded Montville in the second
round, 3-2.

Madison improved to 8-1 on the season and won its fourth straight game.

Starting off October on a positive note, the Dodgers had their fourth consecutive shutout victory. Seven of the team’s eight victories have come by a shutout. Madison has outscored opponents 32-4 this season.

Against Randolph, Madison led 2-0 at halftime. The Dodgers had a 15-2 edge in shots on goal in the game. Tori Brosie, Mabel Acuna-Casey, Chase Cmaylo, Emma Yousey and Alexis Artigliere all scored goals for the Dodgers. Mollie Sullivan had two assists and Cmaylo had one.
