MADISON -- The 10th-seeded Madison High School girls soccer team defeated seventh-seeded Fort Lee, 4-2, in the first round of the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 tournament Monday night in Fort Lee.

The Dodgers were able to put in two goals in each half under the lights in Bergen County Monday evening. 

Fort Lee took a 1-0 lead on a penalty kick with 37:16 remaining in the first half. Madison answered with the equalizer, also on a PK, with 20:51 remaining in the first half.

The Dodgers took their first lead of the night, 2-1, about eight minutes later, which became the halftime score. 

Madison took a 3-1 lead with 35 minutes remaining. Fort Lee scored with just under 10 minutes remaining and the Dodgers went ahead by two goals once again with four minutes left. 

The Dodgers were scheduled to next meet second-seeded Hanover Park in the North 2, Group 2 quarterfinals. Hanover Park edged 15th-seeded Caldwell in PKs in the first round.
