MADISON – The 10th-seeded Madison High School girls soccer team lost to second- seeded Hanover Park in penalty kicks in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, Oct. 31.
Hanover Park advanced after connecting on its fifth try in PKs, moving on following a 3-2 PK score.
The teams played to a 2-2 tie after 100 minutes of soccer.
The Dodgers took a 1-0 lead after the two-minute mark of the first half. Hanover Park was able to equalize with 23:37 remaining in the half. Madison took a 2-1 lead with 35:58 remaining before the Hornets responded nearly six minutes later.
Hanover Park meets the winner of third-seeded Becton and sixth-seeded Morris Tech in
the North 2, Group 2 semis.
