MADISON – The 2019 state seeding meeting for girls soccer was held Tuesday morning and the Madison High School girls soccer team was given the 10th seed in the NJSIAA North Jersey, Section 2, Group 2 tournament.
The Dodgers will travel and take on seventh-seeded Fort Lee in the first round on Monday, Oct. 28, with a time to be determined.
The winner of Fort Lee and Madison will play either second-seeded Hanover Park or 15th-seeded Caldwell in the North 2, Group 2 quarterfinals.
Lyndhurst was awarded the top seed in the section. Becton is the third seed behind Hanover Park. Fourth-seeded Parsippany Hills and fifth-seeded Rutherford round out the
top five. Defending sectional champion Bernards is the 13th-seed, and will meet fourth-seeded Parsippany Hills in the first round.
Madison is 7-5-1 on the season following a three-match winning streak. The Dodgers defeated Morristown-Beard, Villa Walsh and Mountain Lakes in the last three contests.
The sectional quarterfinals will be held on Oct. 31 and the sectional semifinals will be Monday, Nov. 4. The sectional finals will be played on Thursday, Nov. 7. The public state semifinals will be played at neutral sites on Tuesday, Nov. 12. The Group finals will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, at Kean University.
