MADISON – The Madison High School girls volleyball team opened the season with a 25-12, 25-13 loss at Morris Catholic on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The Dodgers are coming off a 20-win season in 2018, reaching the quarterfinal round of the NJSIAA Group 2 tournament before bowing out to Bergen County power Demarest
in two tight sets, 25-21, 25-22. Madison started last season at 10-0 before losing its first match to this same Morris Catholic squad.

Morris Catholic showcased its depth with a number of players contributing. Ella Kretten had five kills, Alicia Pokrzywa finished with 12 digs and Riley O’Hagan had 14 assists.

The Dodgers will look to rebound with a tournament on Saturday before taking on Whippany Park on Sept. 10.
