MADISON – The Madison High School field hockey team improved to 2-0 this season following a 1-0 overtime victory over Boonton on Wednesday.
Chase Cmaylo scored the game-winning goal in overtime. The Dodgers had a 17-5 advantage in shots on goal. For Boonton, Savannah Spann made 15 saves. Madison has not conceded a goal in two games following a 5-0 victory over Montville in the season opener.
Next up for Madison is Parsippany on the road on Friday at 4 p.m.The Dodgers are under the leadership of first-year head coach Tori Rossi this season. Rossi recently graduated from Montclair State University where she played field hockey.
Girls Tennis - Madison (0-3) dropped a 3-2 match to Morristown-Beard on Wednesday. Madison’s Allison Nevias had a thriller at first singles, but she ultimately fell in three sets after winning the first set 6-4. The Dodgers saw success in doubles. Marina Gobbi and Emma Voorhes won in three sets at first doubles and Shea Baggett and Emma Jasson prevailed in three sets at second doubles.
Madison next takes the court at home against Villa Walsh on Friday at 4 p.m.
