MADISON, NJ- The Dodgers ice hockey team, the 17th seed in the NJSIAA Public Group C State Tournament, defeated the 16 seed Millburn 8-4 at Codey Arena Monday. Madison will face the top seed, Summit on Friday. 

Aidan Niceberg led the charge for the Dodgers, finishing with 4-points, 3 goals and an assist. 

Niceberg put Madison ahead 1-0 before Millburn’s Duncan Stewart leveled things at 1-1. Sean Hoover’s goal gave Madison a 2-1 edge after the 1st period.

Jacob Erickson got the 2nd period started with a Madison goal, followed by another Niceberg goal and Matt Leone’s first of two, putting Madison up 5-1.

Keaton Tom made 32 saves on the afternoon for Madison picking up the win. 

Tom and the rest of the Dodgers will need to be at their best on Friday in order to pull off the upset.
