MADISON – The Madison High School girls soccer team defeated Morristown-Beard by a 4-1 score on Tuesday, Sept. 10. The Dodgers put in three goals in the second half following a 1-1 halftime score. Nikki Cilenti, Emma Torkelson, Grace Keane and Brooke Kleiven all found of the back of the net for the Dodgers, which had a 17-6 advantage in shots on goal. Ginny Taylor made five saves for Madison. Madison next takes on Villa Walsh Academy on Sept. 12 at 4 p.m.
Boys Soccer: The Madison boys soccer team (2-1) also had success on Tuesday, winning its second game in a row following a 2-1 victory over Kinnelon. Madison had a 7-6 edge in shots. Both goals came in the second half. The Dodgers next take on Hanover Park on Sept. 12.
Girls Volleyball - Madison (1-1) dominated in a 25-17, 25-5 victory over Whippany Park on Tuesday. Chase Lucas had five kills, Nia Kostidikas finished with five digs and 15 service points, Helen Simmons had 16 assists and three aces and Amelia Kennedy, Hailee Burgess and Megan Tierney all had three kills. Madison is at Jefferson on Sept. 12.
Cross Country - The Madison boys defeated Kinnelon 29-30 behind the performances of Adam Angelone, Aidan Matthews and Jeremy Gann. The girls team defeated Mountain Lakes 23-32. Jamie Habib, Jessica Brezeau, Elisabetta Araya, Hope Pratt and Elizabeth Kulesa all had strong races for the Dodgers.
