Spring Tryouts for Madison Area YMCA Lady Gators Travel Basketball Set for March

The Madison Area YMCA will hold spring tryouts for the Lady Gators Travel Basketball Teams (U12 and U14) at the Madison Area YMCA Family Center’s gymnasium on Monday, March 5 and Wednesday, March 7.

Tryouts will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. for children in grades 5 and 6. Seventh- and eighth-graders can try out from 8 to 9:30 p.m. All participants must complete in online registration form on the Madison Area YMCA website.

The team is a participating member of the Hoop Heaven Spring Basketball League. All games will be played once per week on a Tuesday, Thursday or Friday evening at Hoop Heaven in Whippany.

Eight games guaranteed. Game schedule will be announced in March.

Beginning March 12, practices will be held at Drew University’s gymnasium on Mondays and Wednesdays. Grades 5 and 6 will practice from 6:30 to 8 p.m., followed by a practice for seventh- and eighth-graders, 8-9:30 p.m.

Please bring a change of sneakers. Shoes worn outside cannot be worn in the Drew gym.

The Madison Area YMCA’s 21st Annual Charity Golf Classic and “Camp for One, Camp for All” dinner reception held at Morris County Golf Club in Morristown will send more children to summer camp than ever before. Event proceeds exceeded $100,000.

Citi Global Markets was the presenting sponsor. Bank of America Merrill Lynch and Credit Suisse were tournament sponsors.
