Congratulations to the Madison Area YMCA’s 18th Annual Charity Bocce Invitational Tournament champions, Balls of Fury.
Hosted by the Forum Club and the Toto family, the Bocce Invitational raised more than $28,000 for health and wellness programs such as LIVESTRONG at the YMCA for cancer survivors, the Diabetes Prevention Program, the Community Mental Health Initiative, Enhance Fitness, One Step, Delay the Disease, Healthy Hearts and the Project Community Pride of the Madison Area YMCA, a youth and family counseling service. Provident Bank was the presenting sponsor.
Balls of Fury took first place. Team members included: George Mandala of Madison; Captain of Balls of Fury Bob Rocco of Madison; Rob Mutone of Madison; Mike Heyrich of Madison; Joe Vilarino of Florham Park and Terrence Gilligan of Morristown.
Chatham Collision took second place. Team members included: Nick Shaw of Warren; Bill Palmer, Sr. of Chatham Township; Patrick Palmer of Tewksbury and Captain of Chatham Collision, Bill Palmer, Jr. of Chatham Township.
At the end of season banquet on Wed., Oct. 16, guest speaker Drew Heighway of Chatham graciously shared his story about how the Madison Area Y’s Delay the Disease Parkinson’s program has made a positive impact on him throughout his journey.
Other tournament sponsors included Rocco Iossa and the Toto family as well as Rocco’s Tuscany Bar and Grill and Villa Rose Wine School, who both provided a wonderful celebration for participants and spectators.
