MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Children who survived cancer were treated to a boat ride on Lake Mahopac on Sunday, Aug. 30, courtesy of the local charity Love Holds Life and local Realtor Christine Picone.

Picone of William Raveis, donated a family fun day experience on her boat for the kids that included 10-year-old Zoey Nieves of the Bronx, who conquered stage 4 rhabdomyosarcoma cancer and 8-year-old Dylan Panchoosingh of Flushing, Queens, who conquered stage 4 neuroblastoma cancer.

The event also marked the start of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month, which began Sept. 1.

Picone has advocated for founder Richard Senato’s Love Holds Life since 2015, assisting in local activities and aided in promoting the charity as a past board member with the Mahopac Chamber of Commerce.

“Providing a day to relax on the water and breath fresh air during the tough times these two families have had to face during COVID was a real positive experience for both families to enjoy and be outdoors on beautiful Lake Mahopac,” Senato said.
