CoveCare Center is honored to be a recipient of the first round of grants made by the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation to improve health and human services across New York State. The foundation supports programs that strive to respond to the unmet healthcare and healthcare related needs of individuals, families and communities.
Alfred F. Kelly, Jr., Chief Executive Officer of Visa and Chair of the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation Board, stated, “We are honored to support such a wide range of organizations doing critically important work to improve the health and well-being of New York’s most vulnerable communities.”
The Foundation’s grant will support CoveCare Center’s Senior Partnership Services. Working with the Prevention Council of Putnam and Putnam County’s Office of Senior Resources, the team provides services for residents of Putnam County aged 55 and over who are struggling with mental health or substance use issues. These services include assessments, short-term therapy, and care management to promote individual recovery and wellness. In addition, the mobile team can meet with seniors anywhere in the community and assist with housing needs, including necessary accommodations/accessibility, and connect individuals to community resources. The service is free to those who qualify.
“All of us at CoveCare Center want to thank the Mother Cabrini Health Foundation for their support. With this funding, we will be able to reach even more seniors in our community and help them address mental health and substance use issues, as well as enhance their quality of life and promote independence, commented Eric A. Toth, CEO of CoveCare Center, located in Carmel, NY.
