MAHOPAC, N.Y. - After three weeks of remote learning, Mahopac schools opened for in-person classes on Sept. 29 for the first time since March, albeit via a hybrid model. Half the student body attended school in person on one day, while the other half stayed at home for remote learning and then the next day they switched.

It was not your traditional school day. Students wore masks and had their temperatures taken upon arrival and the classroom desks were kept socially distanced from each other. Nonetheless, teachers and kids were happy to be back together no matter the circumstances. Here are some photos from around the district of that first day back.
