Coach Chuck Scozzafava said he wasn’t surprised.

“I really felt like we should have beat them the first time (a 67-65 OLL win) we played,” Scozzafava said. “We just missed a few chances at the end. But this time we played well, and finished it.”

Caitlyn O’Boyle led the way with 14 points for Mahopac, Mia Klammer added 13, and Kristina Rush had 12.

Mahopac honored seniors April Heady and Olivia Conlin on Monday on Senior Night, where the Indians concluded regular-season play with a 38-34 win over John Jay of East Fishkill.

Klammer led the Indians, who trailed 21-18 at halftime, with 15 points.

Mahopac also picked up a 59-39 win over Roy C. Ketcham the prior Tuesday, with Klammer’s 20-point performance leading the Indians. O’Boyle and Melanie DeMeo each added 11 points for Mahopac.

The Indians are expected to host a first-round game in the upcoming Class AA playoff tournament, which gets underway with outbracket games on Feb. 15 and first-round action Saturday, Feb. 22. Quarterfinals are set for Friday, Feb. 28, semifinals (at the Westchester County Center) on March 5, and finals (at the County Center) on March 8.
