MAHOPAC, N.Y.— The Mahopac Inn was packed Saturday night as people lined up to get their heads shaved and raise money for childhood cancer research.

It was all part of the St. Baldrick’s Foundation’s annual fundraiser, which this year took in more than $40,000 for the cause at Saturday’s event.

Mahopac’s Zach Semenetz was the lead organizer for the event, which marked it the 11th year the fundraiser has been held in honor of the children of the community who have battled cancer.  Semenetz got involved in honor of his younger brother, Garrett, who overcame cancer and went on to win the Section I wrestling championship for MHS last year in the 99-pound division.
