MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Helen Keller once said, “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much.”
It’s a lesson that the students of Lakeview Elementary School are learning thanks to a new space that was created for them over last summer and introduced at the beginning of the school year.
The room formerly known as the computer lab has been transformed into the “learning lab.” It’s a space that’s now being utilized by kindergartners all the way up to fifth grade where the students can go and learn to work collaboratively.
“We had been looking at this space and it was horrible,” said kindergarten teacher Jen Borst, who also serves as technology leader for Lakeview. “It wasn’t functional and it really wasn’t being used.”
