MAHOPAC, N.Y.— A local man faces several felony charges after investigators from the Sheriff’s Department say he broke into and burglarized a Mahopac business.

Police said someone broke into Xclusive Cuts, a barbershop located at 880 South Lake Blvd., on Monday, Aug. 29. Gaining entrance through a side door, the thief stole money from a cash register and a workstation cubby.

The subsequent investigation resulted in the arrest of Armando L. Cass, 44, of 3 Indian Ave., Mahopac. Police said that on Tuesday, Sept. 6, investigators from the Sheriff’s Department Bureau of Investigation executed a search warrant on Cass’ vehicle and home. The investigators arrested Cass and charged him with third-degree burglary and third-degree criminal mischief, both felonies.

According to police, if found guilty of the felony charges, Cass could face up to seven years in state prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
