Mahopac senior Jack McDonald is a captain on the varsity wrestling team. He also runs cross-country and plays defense on the varsity lacrosse team.
How old were you when you started wrestling and how did you get started?
I was in fourth grade and my dad asked me if I wanted to wrestle, I loved wrestling with my brothers so I of course said yes.
Have you set any goals for yourself to achieve this season? How have you prepared to work toward these goals?
I want to win the section for the 182-pound weight class. I’ve worked all off season working out in the gym and running cross-country this past fall to increase my stamina.
As a senior captain, how do you see your role on the team, and how much do you value being a team leader?
My role is to lead by example and help our team win. I very much value being a team leader because every team needs someone to lead in order to be successful.
