BREWSTER, N.Y.— Mahopac had a tough week in varsity softball with losses to Brewster, Roy C. Ketcham, Walter Panas and Eastchester.

Brewster edged visiting Mahopac 3-2 on May 1. Shannon Becker struck out four in a complete-game performance and had two RBI. Juliana DePinho, Alissa Copeland and Abby Mastropietro each had singles. Kim Astrologo doubled.

“Against Brewster we were mentally tough, defensively solid and offensively aggressive,” Mahopac coach Amanda Gambacorta said. “The girls came together as a team and fed off of each other’s energy. Our goal was to come out strong and to score in the first inning and we did.”
