MAHOPAC, N.Y.-A Mahopac man has been arrested and faces drug charges after police say he was discovered to be in possession of ecstasy after a traffic stop.
On the evening of Thursday, Feb. 15, Joseph Marrone, 27, was stopped by members of the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit (NEU) for traffic violations while traveling on Route 6. During the traffic stop, police say they discovered that Marrone was in possession of a quantity of MDMA (ecstasy), an open container of alcohol, and was operating outside the restrictions on his driver’s license.
Marrone was charged with one count of seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, a misdemeanor, and was issued three traffic summonses.
He was released on his own recognizance for a court appearance in Carmel Justice Court.
