Mahopac senior Justin Parker is a guard on the varsity basketball team.
How old were you when you started playing basketball and how did you get started?
I first started playing organized basketball in kindergarten. My dad would wake me and my two brothers up every Saturday morning and take us to the Boys and Girls Club in Mount Vernon.
What are your strengths as a basketball player?
My strengths are shooting and passing.
After transferring from Kennedy Catholic to Mahopac, did you find it hard to adjust to a new team?
No, it wasn’t hard because I’ve been playing with my teammates since I moved here in third grade.
What do you aim to achieve this season?
The goal for this season is to win the championship. Nothing less.
As a senior, how do you see your role on the team, and how much do you value being a team leader?
This year my role is mainly to score, but I also do the little things that help make a team complete. I take leadership as a personal challenge.
