MAHOPAC FALLS, N.Y. - The Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department held its annual tree lighting at its fire station on Luccaro Lane Friday, Dec. 1.

The firehouse property was festooned top to bottom with Christmas decorations to stoke the holiday spirit. There were loads of indoor activities, including refreshments and tables where kids could decorate Christmas cookies and write letters to Santa. A special mailbox was provided so they could mail their wishes to the North Pole. After Santa arrived on a fire truck, the tree and outdoor decorations were lit, creating an enchanting atmosphere.

After visiting with all the children, and posing for pictures along with Mrs. Claus, Santa and his helpers jumped aboard the “magic fire truck” to head back to the North Pole to begin preparing for his big night!
