YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Support Connection, Inc., a not-for-profit organization that provides free support services to people affected by breast and ovarian cancer, was recently awarded a $5,000 grant from the Wells Fargo Foundation’s Community Connection Grant Program.
Support Connection was nominated for the grant by the manager of the Wells Fargo branch in Shrub Oak, Gary Wawrzycki, with support from his district manager.
Sandy Menke, Wells Fargo district manager, Northern Westchester, said: “At Wells Fargo, we believe that small acts of kindness have a huge impact on everyone they touch. Our Community Connections program is one way that we help support those organizations and causes that are making our communities stronger. We couldn’t be prouder to partner with Support Connection, Inc. as they change people’s lives for the better.”
The funds will be used to help fund Support Connection’s free counseling, support groups, educational programs, and other services for those dealing with breast and ovarian cancer.
Executive Director Katherine Quinn said: “We are extremely grateful to Wells Fargo for their support. We rely on grants and contributions to fulfill our mission. This funding will have a positive impact on many lives.”
