Yorktown Police Investigate Attempted Armed Robbery at Gas Station

YORKTOWN, N.Y. - Police are searching for a male suspect who allegedly attempted to rob a Yorktown gas station early Friday morning.

Around 4:08 a.m. Jan. 22, a man entered the Sunoco gas station at 3650 Lee Road armed with a baseball bat, according to police. After failing to gain access to the cash register, the suspect drove away in a white 2012 Acura MDX, which was reported stolen by a Yorktown resident, according to police.

The suspect is described by police as a white male wearing a black or brown hoody with a "VANS" logo on the front. He was also wearing a bandana covering his face, police said.

Any witnesses or anyone with information regarding this incident is urged to contact the Yorktown Police Department at 914-962-4141.
