MAHOPAC, N.Y. - If Croton Falls Road looked a little cleaner last week, you can thank a team of anti-litter volunteers led by the Mahopac Lions Club and including some elected officials such as Supervisor Ken Schmitt and Assemblyman Kevin Byrne (who lives in Mahopac).

As part of the town’s Earth Day initiatives, on Saturday, April 20, the volunteer crews scoured the sides of the road, from Route 6 and moving several miles east, picking up litter and placing it in orange trash bags that were later collected by the town highway department. Volunteer efforts were underway all week to clean roads throughout the neighborhoods of Mahopac now that spring has sprung.
