MAHOPAC, N.Y. - Even in remote learning environments and socially distanced from each other, Mahopac students and teachers are finding ways to stay connected. All three Mahopac elementary schools participated in a Mahopac Virtual Spirit Week recently.
On “Missing School Monday” students and teachers—and in some cases their older siblings and parents—dressed in their Mahopac best as they continued their studies remotely. Everyone was encouraged to snap a picture in school colors or spirit wear and consider what they miss most about school.
Lakeview and Fulmar Road Assistant Principal Elizabeth Blessing sent students a thank you message in their Google Classrooms (the platform on which much of the elementary school remote learning takes place) and on Twitter thanking everyone for participating.
“I truly am missing all of you and seeing all your pictures really brought a smile to my face!” she wrote.
Blessing invited everyone to “Tasty Tuesday,” where the posed for pictures with their healthy snacks. Then they got ready to “Chalk the Walks” with encouraging words, pictures and positive messages while having fun and being creative.
