MAHOPAC, N.Y. - In a letter to district residents, School Superintendent Anthony DiCarlo announced that the district’s vendor experienced a supply issue delaying the delivery of paper ballots for the school budget, library budget and school board candidate votes..
DiCarlo wrote, “The District contracted with NTS to print and mail its absentee ballots. On Friday, May 29, we were notified that NTS has had a major supply issue as it did not receive the shipment of envelopes it expected to receive last week. As a result, the absentee ballots for many districts, including ours, have not yet been mailed out. We have made the following arrangements to deliver an absentee ballot, and an oath envelope with instructions to all registered voters.”
Consequently, ballots will be delivered to mailboxes Wednesday, June 3 through Saturday, June 6. Completed ballots can be dropped off at the District Office lockbox anytime June 3 through June 8. On June 9, completed ballots can be dropped off at the Mahopac High School guard house between 6 a.m. and 5 p.m. All ballots must be received by 5 p.m. on June 9.
Anyone who meets the definition of a qualified voter, but has not registered to vote, is eligible to receive an absentee ballot and vote in the annual budget vote and election. They should follow the following procedures:
- Qualified voters who are not registered can apply for absentee ballot at: https://www.mahopac.k12.ny.us/budget_information or contact our district clerk at firstname.lastname@example.org
- On June 8, ballots will be available to qualified voters who have completed the absentee ballot application and turn it in at the Mahopac High School guard house between 1 and 5 p.m.
