MAHOPAC, N.Y. - In an effort to further control the spread of COVID-19, Supervisor Schmitt has officially closed Geary Rink (across from the firehouse on Route 6), Sycamore Park basketball courts and Baldwin Meadows Park to further emphasize that young people should not be participating in close-contact sports or congregate together.

Councilman Frank Lombardi, the Town Board’s coronavirus liaison, reminds residents to only go out for essentials and ask your senior-citizen neighbors if you can get them something while shopping, so they don’t need to go out. Remember to support local stores and restaurants at this time with takeout orders.
As of Friday, the county health department said there were 109 lab confirmed cases, (56 Confirmed cases in the Town of Carmel) in Putnam, and that number is expected to increase as more testing is performed. There have been 5,944 cases in Westchester and 1,197 in Rockland counties.
