MAHOPAC, N.Y. - The Mahopac Fire Department’s annual carnival kicked off last week once Mother Nature decided to cooperate. Unfortunately, rain washed out the firemen’s parade that was slated for Thursday, July 11. However, the carnival went on as planned and will be back again this weekend on Friday and Saturday, July 19-20, at the firehouse on the corner of Route 6 and Croton Falls Road. You will find all the classic carnival rides, from the Ferris wheel to the merry-go-round and more. There are midway games, raffles, and lots of carnival food, including the department’s renowned sausage and pepper sandwiches. Admission is free!
