SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – Actor James Rebhorn died in his South Orange home on Friday at the age of 65.  He had recently been one of the stars of the Showtime series, “Homeland.”  The cause was melanoma, his agent, Dianne Busch told the New York Times.

In addition to playing the father of agent Carrie Mathison, played by Claire Danes, on Homeland, Rebhorn played many standout roles on television, the stage and in films, including  “Meet the Parents,” “Independence Day,” “Sleepwalk With Me,” “Seinfeld,” and “White Collar.”  Rebhorn also appeared on Broadway in the Roundabout Theater Company productions of “Twelve Angry Men” and “Our Town,” among others.
