The Center for Integrated Holistic Medicine in Springfield, NJ, celebrates the Chinese New Year by hosting an all-day Open House on Friday, January 31st, offering complementary sample Acupuncture treatments, Chinese Tui-Na massage, aromatherapy and Qigong classes, and healthy refreshments. This event will take place at 26 Linden Avenue, Suite 102, in Springfield, NJ from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm.

"This is a wonderful opportunity for anyone in Central and Northern NJ to celebrate the Chinese New Year and experience Acupuncture if you have never tried it before. With years of clinical research and thousands of personal testimonials, we want to educate people that there are other options available and that their bodies have the miraculous ability to heal through alternative therapies," says Clinic Director and Doctor of Oriental Medicine, Orest V. Pelechaty.

Acupuncture is a holistic therapy that has been applied for over 5,000 years. It is a branch of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) that regulates the flow of the body's natural energy, otherwise known as Qi (pronounced “chee”). It involves the application of slim, one-time-use needles to specific areas, called acu-points, and is endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) and National Institutes of Health (NIH).

According to a study published in the Archives of Internal Medicine, over half of all medical doctors believe Acupuncture to be efficacious and of value and refer their patients to Acupuncturists more than any other alternative medicine provider. Eight million Americans have already tried Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and clinical studies have shown Acupuncture effective in treating many common conditions such as acute and chronic pain management, endocrine, circulatory, and systemic conditions.
