The Orange-based social service nonprofit organization FAMILYConnections has recently been awarded three separate grants to expand the services they deliver in local schools.

FAMILYConnections was awarded a grant from The Healthcare Foundation of New Jersey to deliver their award-winning PrePARE program at Rosa Parks Central Campus Community School in Orange.  PrePARE provides on-site preschool and kindergarten services, including play therapy, parent and caregiver training, and innovative life skills and personal safety curricula to start young children off on the right path.  Thanks to the Healthcare Foundation, this is the agency’s first opportunity to implement the PrePARE model in a public school system, serving both preschool and kindergarten children.  This new service will be integrated with FAMILYConnections’ existing Community School services at Rosa Parks, funded by JPMorgan Chase Foundation.

For the third year in a row, Citi has renewed funding to expand college access services at The Space, a School-Based Youth Service Program at Orange High School.  This year, Citi generously doubled its support so The Space can continue creating a culture of college readiness to meet increased student demand for assistance with college applications, local college tours, and free SAT prep courses.
