SOUTH ORANGE, NJ – The free Wednesday night Concerts in the Park are returning to Flood’s Hill in Meadowland Park, beginning July 10, presented by the Village of South Orange, The Baird and the South Orange Performing Arts Center.
The seies will run for five consecutive Wednesday nights. Audiences are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets. Food and beverages will be available.
July 10 - Stiletto: The Songs of Billy Joel & Elton John: Matthew Friedman, "The Piano Man" in the National Tours of Billy Joel and Twyla Tharp's Tony Award-winning musical, Movin' Out, performs Billy and Elton's greatest hits. His band, Stiletto is comprised of some of Broadway's finest musicians.
July 17 - Kiwi: Rooted in reggae rhythms and tropicália-inspired melodies, Jersey City-based Kiwi dynamically blends jazz flourishes and soulful grooves into a uniquely uplifting sound.
July 24 - Cheryl 'Pepsii' Riley: Enthralling audiences ever since bursting onto the music scene in 1988 with her debut album, Me, Myself, and I. Riley has demonstrated rare staying power and is sure to put on a great show.
July 31 - Michael Hill's Blues Mob : With the passion, desire for freedom, humor and justice that are fundamental to the Blues, the band delivers blues that is seasoned with rock, R&B, funk and more.
Aug 7 - Rock the Hill: An eclectic mix of local and visiting garage bands will rock Flood’s Hill to close out the 2013 Concerts in the Park series.
