ANN ARBOR, MI – Current South Orange-Maplewood schools superintendent Brian Osborne has been selected to become the new superintendent in Ann Arbor, Michigan.  The Ann Arbor Board of Education voted on Friday to begin contract negotiations with Osborne, according to AnnArbor.com.  Osborne could not be reached for comment.

The board’s vote was a unanimous 7-0, according to the report.  Osborne has not yet accepted the position, but negotiations on his contract are expected to begin immediately.

This decision comes directly after the South Orange-Maplewood school district had decided to increased Osborne’s salary from $208,000 to $221,001. Of course, that salary would drop to about $167,500 once Osborne's current contract with the district expires in June 2014 due to the recently instituted salary cap for superintendent salaries.
