The Friends of the South Orange Public Library will conduct their annual book sale on Saturday and Sunday, June 15th and 16th, at the Baird Community Center on 5 Mead Street in South Orange from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm on both days.
A large potpourri of books and other media products will be available for sale including adult, young adult, and children’s fiction and nonfiction books (both hardcover and paperback), DVD’s, music and other CD’s, board games, and puzzles. Bags will also be offered for $5.00 apiece on Sunday, June 16th.
Anyone who wants to donate books and other materials for the book sale can bring them to the Baird Center on Saturday, June 8th from 2:00 to 4:00 pm, Tuesday, June 11th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm, and Wednesday, June 12th from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm and from 6:00 to 8:00 pm. Only the above mentioned items (in good condition, please) will be accepted.
The Friends of the South Orange Public Library is a nonprofit group of volunteers who devote themselves to enhancing and promoting the Library’s services and activities. The group’s functions, besides holding the book sale, include buying new books and materials, purchasing toys and books and sponsoring a summer reading program for children, operating the Book Cage (a secondhand book store inside the Library), advocating for the Library by meeting with local and state governments, and funding the restoration and digitization of local historical documents.
