SOUTH ORANGE, NJ - The South Orange Rescue Squad will be offering American Heart Association Friends and Family CPR Classes on the second Sunday of every month, beginning on Sunday, June 9, from 11 AM to 2 PM. The classes will be open to the general public at a cost of $15 and be held at South Orange Rescue Squad headquarters, located at 4 Third Street.

The Family and Friends CPR Class is designed for people who want to learn CPR, but do not need a CPR course completion card. This class is ideal for students, parents, grandparents, babysitters and others interested in learning how to save a life. The class will be taught by members of the Rescue Squad who are certified American Heart Association instructors.

When a person is unresponsive and not breathing, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) can be done to preserve brain function until further measures can be taken to restore blood circulation and breathing.
