SOUTH ORANGE, N.J. -- Temple Sharey Tefilo-Israel of South Orange never lost power during the hurricane and was host to many in the community who were without, among them Congregation Beth El., also in South Orange

On Sunday, Nov. 11, the combined Religious Schools of both congregations gathered at Temple Sharey-Tefilo Israel to perform the mitzvah of loving thy neighbor. More than 400 students joined forces and produced goody bags, blankets and scarves for those affected by the hurricane.

Helping to coordinate the effort were Mindy Schreff, of Maplewood, director of the Linda and Rudy Slucker Religious School at TSTI, and Sherri Morris, Director of the Jewish Learning Center at Beth El.
