MAPLEWOOD, NJ - On Friday, November 4, 2011, The Arc of Essex County is offering 3- 1-hour information sessions about the services and supports provided to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and their families throughout Essex County. Presentations regarding The Arc of Essex County’s Day, Residential, Children, Family and Community Services will be held. In addition, information and assistance will be provided on Self Directed Services. A visit to a residential program will be available to interested parties.

The Arc of Essex County’s Open House, on November 4, is part of a statewide effort sponsored by NJACP (New Jersey Association of Community Providers) to educate families about the programs and services available to people with intellectual and developmental disabilities in their communities.

The Arc of Essex County is a non-profit agency for over 1300 individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities and their families. Since 1948, The Arc of Essex County has provided much needed services to people from birth through senior years in, now, over 40 distinct programs.

The Open House will be held at The Arc of Essex County’s Opportunity Zone Community Resource Center, 50-58 Burnett Ave., Maplewood, NJ   07040.  Reservations will be at 11:00am-12:00pm, 3:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-7:00pm.
