MAPLEWOOD, NJ -  Members of the Youth Orchestras of Essex County will perform Saturday, March 8, at the Maplewood Library.   The 1 p.m. event will be part of the library's free “Art and Music” celebration. These young musicians will be playing both before and after an artist’s talk by Dorothy Engel.

The Faulkner sisters, Lisa, Maggie and Daphne, of Belleville and Hank Mecinski of South Orange will showcase their skills on violin in a series of selections.

The Youth Orchestras of Essex County are the longest-operating youth orchestra in New Jersey, formed in 1956.  They are three orchestras and one ensemble of more than 80 musicians from a dozen towns, led by eight outstanding conductors and coaches, making beautiful classical music.
